JSM EXPERIMENTAL DATA: Oil Flow Images
3rd
AIAA CFD High Lift Prediction Workshop
Many oil flow images are available from the JSM experiment.
The conditions are Re=1.93 million per mean aerodynamic chord, M=0.172.
NOTE: JAXA naming convention "Case 1" in the following refers to the JSM with Nacelle/Pylon OFF.
This corresponds to Workshop Test Cases 2a and 2b.
NOTE: JAXA naming convention "Case 2" in the following refers to the JSM with Nacelle/Pylon ON.
This corresponds to Workshop Test Cases 2c and 2d.
Nacelle/Pylon OFF:
AoA=4.36 deg:
AoA=10.47 deg:
AoA=18.58 deg:
AoA=21.57 deg:
Download all the Nacelle/Pylon OFF photos (contains Powerpoint files and PDF files in a tarred gzipped directory):
Case1-Surface_Flow.tar.gz (123 MB).
Note: the oil flow for the nacelle-pylon OFF conditions were taken with
peniche of 30 mm height (all other data for this workshop used 60 mm peniche height). However, the differences in aerodynamic forces
between the 30 mm and 60 mm peniche was small, and there is confidence that the oil flows are still representative.
Nacelle/Pylon ON:
AoA=4.36 deg:
AoA=10.48 deg:
AoA=18.59 deg:
AoA=21.57 deg:
Download all the Nacelle/Pylon ON photos (contains Powerpoint files and PDF files in a tarred gzipped directory):
Case2-Surface_Flow.tar.gz (31 MB).
