GRIDS

3rd AIAA CFD High Lift Prediction Workshop

The grids are constructed from the geometry files provided on the Geometry Files page.

To download provided grids:

• HL-CRM GRIDS
  • Click the following link: https://hiliftpw-ftp.larc.nasa.gov/HiLiftPW3/HL-CRM_Grids/   (navigates to an independent ftp repository site)
  • HL-CRM grids should be supplied in inches (the units of the original geometry).
  • If you modify the provided grids or create your own grids, they must be uploaded and made available to others.
  • If you are generating your own meshes for the HL-CRM configuration in HiLiftPW-3 instead of using the provided baseline meshes, the organizers are collecting data about your meshing experience for their AIAA 1st Geometry and Mesh Generation Workshop with the questionnaire: GMGW-1-Participant-Questionnaire-Version1p0.docx, or GMGW-1-Participant-Questionnaire-Version1p0.pdf (updated 2/22/2017). Please submit it with your grid(s).
  • If you used committee-generated HL-CRM grids, the organizers of the AIAA 1st Geometry and Mesh Generation Workshop would appreciate receiving your feedback. The following 1-page form is your opportunity to suggest how these meshes could be improved for future workshops: GMGW1-Committee-Mesh-Feedback-final.docx, or GMGW1-Committee-Mesh-Feedback-final.pdf.
  
   
• JSM GRIDS
  • Click the following link: https://hiliftpw-ftp.larc.nasa.gov/HiLiftPW3/JSM_Grids/   (navigates to an independent ftp repository site)
  • JSM grids should be supplied in mm (the units of the original geometry).
  • If you modify the provided grids or create your own JSM grids, they must be uploaded and made available to others. If possible, please fill out the GMGW Participant Questionnaire (referenced above as well as below) for your JSM grids also (the questionnaire is intended for the HL-CRM configuration, but you can adapt it to the JSM) This will help us to consistently track grid generation issues and processes experienced by the workshop participants.

To upload grids:

• Review the gridding guidelines for self-generated meshes: GriddingGuidelines-HiLiftPW3-v10.pdf (pdf file).
• IMPORTANT: Please provide a document that summarizes your grids (including grid sizes and any issues encountered/corrected when creating them), and also include a filled out survey form
  • GMGW-1-Participant-Questionnaire-Version1p0.docx, or
  • GMGW-1-Participant-Questionnaire-Version1p0.pdf
  (the questionnaire is intended for the HL-CRM configuration, but you can adapt it to the JSM) along with your grid upload.
• We also welcome feedback on the gridding guidelines.
• Contact the page curator or the organizers for grid file upload instructions.

NOTE: Grids used to create submitted results must be uploaded to the HiLiftPW Committee.
