AIAA CFD High Lift Prediction Workshop
The test cases for HLPW-5 are defined in the following document (reference parameter information can be found on the
Geometry Files Page):
(Currently, test case 3 is not fully specified. Some specifics are still To Be Determined (TBD) or To Be Verified (TBV).)
For RANS participants, Test Case 1 is also a part of the
High-Fidelity CFD Verification Workshop,
which is being held 6 months prior to HLPW-5.
This common link between the two workshops is purposeful.
A full description is given in AIAA Paper 2023-1244 (note typo in equation for
Cw1 after Eq (12)... kappa should be squared in the denominator).
Note: if your CFD code does not take Reynolds number (Re) as an input, then
(preferably) kinematic viscosity should be adjusted in order to achieve the precise Re
requested in the Test Cases Document.
Additional information about the setting of Re can be found in Q10/A10 on the
Test Case 2 will be compared with experimental data already taken in the ONERA F1 wind tunnel
as well as with other wind tunnel tests as appropriate. Test Case 3 will be compared with experimental data
to be taken in NASA's NTF wind tunnel, as well as with other wind tunnel tests as appropriate.
